ACTIVITYYouth Red Cross:Affiliated to the Red Cross Society of India, Youth Red Cross is open to the students and staff of the college The Principal of the college is entitled to nominate a member of the staff of the College as Counsellor, who in turn, selects a group of students as volunteers The volunteers are trained in camps organised for various community service activities. Specific Objective of the Outfits:1 To work among people; to engage in non-violent and constructive social activities, to serve the people in distress;. 2 To enhance their self-esteem. Moral character and understanding of community life;. 3 Learning to confront reality with application of knowledge already acquired 4 Inculcating the quality of democratic leadership and spirit of adventure. Code of Conduct of Volunteers :1 A volunteer must work under the Programme Officer and Crew / Team Leader and abide by the rules and discipline of the camp. . 2 A practitioner in simple living.. 3 To promote the principles of community living through confidence building measures. Rover and Ranger :Scouts & Guides, the brainchild of Lord Baden Powell has its presence in the college through its senior branch: the Rover Crew and the Ranger team. The K.B. College Rover Crew and Ranger team have been functioning actively since 2000 with an authorized strength of 24 for each of the teams. The Rovers and Rangers are trained on their duties and responsibilities as per a prescribed syllabus covering 40 periods Students interested for serving as Rovers and Rangers are required to contact the Officers in-Charge of the wings of the college. K B. College Rover Crew & Ranger team have been successfully participating in state level Republic Day and Independence Day parades. They also make their presence felt at the Scouts / Guides Samagams, Nipun Training and Testing Camps, the Car festivals at Puri and Bhubaneswar. The college team has received the distinction of highest participation Award for 2002-03 and 2003-04. Rover Soumya Ranjan Swain has received the Best Rover, Orissa Award for 2003-04. National Service Scheme(NSS) :The college proudly possesses two units of the National Service Scheme (N.S.S) with a strength of 50 students each Tee college contingent of the N.S.S is unanimous about the motto of this somber national human outfit:"Not me but you" as was proved by the worthy volunteers during the devastating Super-Cyclone of 1559. It strives for promoting national consciousness among students on one hand, and inculcating a sense of social responsibility, discipline, dignity and labour on the other. Students interested to join and work for the N.S.S are required to apply on a plain Paper to the Programme officer, after notification to that effect is done The volunteers are required to conduct their activities in the adopted villages on Sundays and holidays throughout the year and under special camp programmed during vacations The N.S.S units of the college have successfully undertaken programmed in plantation, adult literacy and sanitation Inter college music competition :The college celebrates K.B Jayanti on 28th September every years It has decided to conduct inter college music competition for which Dr.B.D.Panda has donated Rs.1,00,000.
