College Facility
Cycle Stand
Among other facilities, the students of the college enjoy; its nondescript bicycle shed must get a mention. The students use this facility for free of cost However, the owners of the bicycles are responsible for safeguarding their property and the college does not hold itself accountable for any damage or loss involving this..
Students Common Room :
The college has a Boys' Common Room and a Girls' Common Room. The rooms are furnished with facilities for indoor games and newspapers & periodicals. Students are required to pay a fee towards maintenance of this at the time of admission. Hence, it is expected that the students show concern and discipline while using their respective common rooms.
Matters relating to the Common Rooms are managed by a committee consisting of 1 ) the Principal, and 2) one of the lecturers nominated by the Principal as the Vice President in charge of Common Room. Any problem relating to the common rooms of the students should be brought to the notice of the Vice-President.
Travel Concessions
Travel concessions by train are available to students as per rules laid down by the Ministry of Railways This is applicable to travailing home during summer and puja vacations; for attending interviews; and to go on study tours. Students in order ho avail such concession, are required to apply in the prescribed form to the Principal.
These concessions also cover travel by bus. Students may avail of everyday concessional tickets (from the bus operating agencies or the OSRTC) taking a recommendation from the Principal for attending college, or concession in travel fare during summer and puja vacations.
Faculty Societies :
The college has a Commerce Society for the academic welfare of the Commerce students. Similarly, A Science Society also functions for the students of the Science stream of studies While all the Science students of the college are members of the Science Society, the Commerce Society consists of students from the Commerce faculty The Principal of the college is the Ex-Officio President of the societies staff members of the respective faculties are Associate Members of these bodies. These bodies aim to provide to the students a qualitative academic environ supplementing classroom teaching. The societies organize academic seminars, lectures and discussions on topics relevant to the students. These bodies also arrange picnics and study tours, instrumental in creating goodwill, understanding and solidarity among students.
Cultural, Dramatic & Athletic Societies:
The Principal is the Ex-Officio president of these bodies while the Vice Presidents are nominated by the principal from among the staff members. The societies organize events and competitions annually in the respective fields. Students are encouraged to participate in the events and successful participants are awarded prizes in the Annual Function.
'Prachi Kanya'- The Wall Magazine :
Newly budded this literary attempt has proven to be the most inspiring platform for students outpouring with creativity. Published in 3 to 4 issues in a year it encourages the raw imaginations to be fine tuned. Short stories, Essays, poems in both regional and English language are invited and short listed by an erudite panel of creative faculties.
Entry into Public Service for SC/ST/OBC :
This is an important cell and service provider of UGC 11th plan which takes care of those students of SC/ST/OBC who try to find their luck in Public Services. This cell makes arrangement to hire experts from outside and organize training for aspirants through teaching of General English, General Arithmetic, Reasoning and General Knowledge
UGC Network Resource Centre :
This Network Resource Centre established by UGC 11th plan works as a medium between the students and the UGC Network Centre. Educational Programmes broadcast by the centre is transmitted to students through our monitoring system. The smart class room provides this facility by telecasting and also preserving the important ones in the form of recording.
